Walter L. Huber was a Forest Service Engineer for the State of California (c1900-1925). He was the first man to ascend Mount Haeckel (July 14, 1920). He was also author of "San Francisco Earthquakes of 1865 and 1868," "Seismological Society of America" (December 1930) and a book collector.
